A Vintage Makeover Circa 1954
Oh, how times have changed… The Art of Manliness uncovered a great makeover for a college student in 1954.
Tony’s post on how to change your style reminded me of a great magazine article I found awhile back ago in a 1954 issue of True Magazine for Men that I bought at an estate sale in Vermont. Entitled ”Look What Happens When You Dress As Smart as You Are,” the article highlights the style transformation of Columbia University student, Don Wardlaw.
A group of scans follow. Note the “sloppy” before image and then the dapper after images. By today’s standards, most people would settle for the before and be quite happy: don’t you think?

The Godfather in Little Italy
Mark the date. This is going to be a good one.
The Alamo Drafthouse and Levi’s® present the 2010 Rolling Roadshow free outdoor screening of THE GODFATHER PART II in New York, NY on a rooftop near Little Italy on August 27.
If you’re not in NYC, there are several other cities where these shows will be played. Be sure to check it out.
